Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Secondary Graduate Teaching Assistant in Newcastle upon Tyne. Start date: October 2026. This is a full-time position paying £92.63-£105 per day, depending on experience.

You will support students 1:1 and in small groups, assist teachers with engaging lessons, and help maintain a positive, safe learning environment. A degree is required, with a passion for helping young people and strong communication skills.

Your Role

• Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Help create a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
• Encourage student participation, progress, and confidence.
• Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to maximise student outcomes.
• Gain first-hand experience of classroom management and educational practice.
