Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting ambitious Graduate Teaching Assistants to support students in a successful secondary school in North Tyneside. This is an outstanding opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and develop skills in safeguarding and behaviour management.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups, assist pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, and collaborate with teaching staff to deliver inclusive lessons.

Qualifications

• A graduate with a degree in any subject.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, resilient and proactive attitude.
• Ability to build professional relationships quickly.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience with young people is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
• Work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Support students with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and attendance.
• Build strong relationships that support students' confidence and wellbeing.
• Provide academic, pastoral and emotional support where required.
• Gain valuable experience of classroom practice, safeguarding and behaviour management.
