Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant in Newcastle upon Tyne to support pupils with autism, ADHD and SEMH needs. The role focuses on enabling access to education through 1:1 and small-group support, and close collaboration with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.

The successful candidate will gain practical experience, enhance future postgraduate study applications, and develop skills in behaviour management and education-based interventions within a SEND

Qualifications

• Requires psychology background and interest in educational psychology or mental health.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is beneficial.
• Willingness to undergo safeguarding checks and training.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist with behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and pastoral teams.
• Support targeted interventions and engagement activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to access learning.
