Job summary

Sprint Education Recruitment is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students with SEN in Coventry's mainstream and specialist settings, from primary to secondary.

The role is suitable for graduates in Psychology or related fields, with strong communication and calmness, and available for full-time, long-term placements.

Salary depends on experience; the agency provides weekly PAYE, training in SEN and behaviour support, and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Works 1:1 or with small groups to support students in lessons.
• Follows plans and strategies set by teaching staff and the SENCO.
• Adapts resources so tasks remain achievable without changing learning goals.
• Observes and reports on what is working well in student progression.
• Supports routines, transitions and quieter moments of the day.
• Learns from experienced staff, including therapists and specialists where involved.

What a Graduate Teaching Assistant does day to day

• Works 1:1 or with small groups, supporting students to take part in lessons alongside their peers
• Follows plans and strategies set by teaching staff and the SENCO, rather than designing them
• Adapts resources so a task is achievable without changing what's being learned
• Observes carefully and reports back on what's working
• Supports students through routines, transitions and quieter moments of the day
• Learns from experienced staff, including therapists and specialists where they're involved
