Job summary

AECOM is seeking Graduate Mechanical Engineers to join our Water teams across the North and Midlands (Birmingham, Chesterfield, Leeds, Manchester). This role offers a hybrid working model, exciting water programmes with major UK clients, and opportunities to work from concept to construction design.

Qualifications

• MEng in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or above) or equivalent is preferred.
• Interest in water projects and willingness to pursue professional qualifications.
• Ambitious, hard-working, technically proficient with good report writing.
• Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) and ability to prioritise work with a team.

Responsibilities

• Engage in all design stages: Feasibility, Outline, Detail, Construction Design.
• Produce pumping calculations, system schematics and equipment schedules.
• Develop electrical and mechanical interface drawings and specs.
• Collaborate with civil/mechanical/electrical/process engineers.
• Provide timely reporting to clients and project leads.
• Support design reviews, risk assessments and compliance work.
• Assist with project delivery, asset and network performance assessments.
• Create lifting, access and maintenance plans.
