Job summary

Arup is a global consultancy actively recruiting a graduate mechanical engineer to join the Energy team in London and support our work delivering low carbon energy systems. The role involves high-level infrastructure sizing, mechanical systems design, including district heating and cooling, and whole system modelling for masterplans and city-scale energy strategies.

You will work within a multidisciplinary group, applying your Master’s-level training to feasibility studies, piped-system design,

Qualifications

• Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Software skills: Python, MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, teamwork, global energy systems and techno-economic modelling.

Responsibilities

• High-level piped system design for masterplan designs
• Renewable energy feasibility studies and owners’ engineering roles
• Detailed design of piped systems, including district heating and cooling
• Low carbon energy system strategies and whole system modelling
