Job summary

Arup’s Energy team in London is recruiting a graduate electrical engineer to support low carbon energy systems. The role involves infrastructure sizing, grid connection studies, and design of electrical infrastructure across masterplans and energy projects.

You will join a multidisciplinary group of engineers, scientists and planners, contributing to high-level studies, reports and options analysis for sustainable energy solutions in building and city scales.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Ground / Geotechnical Engineering).
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience in assessment, analysis, and design, with design reports, drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley ProjectWise, Navisworks would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Involved in high-level infrastructure sizing, electrical systems design and grid connection studies including power systems modelling.
• Infrastructure coordination across masterplan and energy infrastructure design, preparing engineering sketches and technical reports.
• Foundation, access road and other civil infrastructure design for energy infrastructure, analysing survey information and constraints for solution development.
• Linear infrastructure design, earthworks, developing and appraising options and supporting the production of engineering solutions and business cases.
