Job summary

Arup, a global engineering and consulting firm, invites graduates for a Mechanical Engineer position in Building Services based in Manchester. You will join multidisciplinary teams, contribute to low energy and low carbon building design, and support HVAC system development from day one.

The role focuses on developing building services concepts, using 3D modelling with Revit, and applying sustainability and decarbonisation strategies across diverse projects in the UK.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or Building Services Engineering
• IMechE/CIBSE or Engineering Council accredited course
• Full working rights in the UK and no more than 12 months in a similar role

Responsibilities

• Support development of mechanical design concepts for low energy, low carbon design
• Complete HVAC design for buildings
• Use software and digital tools to analyze and optimize solutions
• Model designs in 3D with Revit
• Perform thermal and Building Regulation modelling with IESVE or similar
• Prepare mark-ups and coordinate with design team
• Input to decarbonisation strategies for operational and embodied carbon
• Conduct site visits
• Prepare reports and site documents
• Evaluate new technologies for sustainable design

Education
