Job summary

Galliford Try Group invites applications for its UK graduate development programme in mechanical engineering. This two-year, hands-on role runs alongside a permanent position, offering extensive training modules and mentorship to help you gain professional qualifications and leadership skills.

You will contribute to mechanical projects within the environment business, supporting from design through to completion while focusing on safety, quality and practical delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) expected by Sept 2027.
• Strong collaboration and communication across teams.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and proactive learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support early site investigations and liaise with clients, designers, and project teams.
• Prepare and review health and safety documents including risk assessments and method statements.
• Assist with procurement of materials and engagement of subcontractors.
• Attend factory and site testing, commissioning activities and client training sessions.
• Participate in design reviews and hazard studies for safe, innovative solutions.
• Support cost control, budgeting and commercial management activities.
• Help develop and review ITPs and ensure QA across the project lifecycle.
• Assist with project documentation close-out, including as-built drawings and manuals.
