Job summary

Stantec is recruiting for a Graduate Geo-Environmental / Geo-Technical Engineer as part of its 2027 Graduate Programme in Edinburgh. You will join a multidisciplinary Environmental Services team and work across renewables, defence, commercial, and residential developments, balancing fieldwork with consultancy tasks.

You will benefit from mentorship to achieve chartership and a structured progression plan with professional bodies such as The Geological Society, ICE, IES, and CIWEM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences, or Environmental Science accredited by a relevant professional body (such as The Geological Society, ICE, IES, or CIWEM).

Responsibilities

• Designing, scoping, and managing site investigations, including on-site supervision, soil and rock logging, and environmental sampling.
• Analyzing field data and authoring comprehensive factual and interpretative reports.
• Conducting qualitative and quantitative geo-environmental and geotechnical risk assessments to support site development and remediation.
• Providing expert geo advice throughout the design, planning, and construction phases on multidisciplinary schemes.
