Job summary

Join Stantec for the 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Geo-Environmental / Geo-Technical Engineer in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow office. You’ll be part of the Environmental Services team and work on a dynamic portfolio across the UK, supporting Infrastructure & Buildings, Water, Energy, and Environmental Services units.

You’ll gain hands-on experience from site investigation through to design and construction delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or related field.
• Accreditation by a professional body (GSL, ICE, IES, CIWEM, or IOM3) preferred.
• Willing to be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow and work 4 days per week in office.

Responsibilities

• Analyse geological, geo-environmental, and geotechnical data.
• Deliver ground investigations and support EIAs.
• Assess foundations, slope stability, and earthworks; create ground models.
• Conduct contaminated land risk assessments and remediation strategies.
• Monitor fieldworks and design/report on foundations, retaining walls, soil slope stability, earthworks, and rock slope stabilization.
• Utilise numerical analysis software and collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams.
