Job summary

Stantec is inviting applications for its 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Geo-Environmental / Geo-Technical Engineer in our Edinburgh office. You will join a multidisciplinary Environmental Services team, working on projects across renewables, defence, commercial and housing sectors.

In this role you will balance fieldwork with consultancy work, supported by mentors across the organization. Graduates are encouraged to pursue chartership with bodies such as CGeol, CEng, CSci, or CEnv during

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences, or Environmental Science that is accredited by a relevant professional body such as The Geological Society, ICE, IES, or CIWEM.

Responsibilities

• Design, scope, and manage site investigations including on-site supervision, soil and rock logging, and environmental sampling.
• Analyse field data and authorise comprehensive factual and interpretative reports.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative geo-environmental and geotechnical risk assessments to support site development and remediation.
• Provide expert geo advice throughout the design, planning and construction phases on multidisciplinary schemes.
