Job summary

Stantec in Birmingham is launching its 2027 Autumn Graduate Programme for a Graduate Fire Engineer. You will join a team within the Buildings discipline, working on multidisciplinary projects and learning from experienced professionals to develop your fire engineering skills.

You’ll support project delivery, contribute to technical assessments and design documentation, attend meetings, and progress toward professional accreditation with mentoring and a structured early career programme.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with modules relating to Fire Safety and Fire Engineering.
• Knowledge of Pyrosim and FDS would be beneficial.
• Interest in working in the Buildings sector.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks within the time frame specified.
• Draft technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational quality.
• Participate in client meetings, with supervision, and discuss design guidance for simple scenarios.
• Identify the influence of fire safety provisions on overall building risk.
• Expand on the fundamentals of Fire Safety Engineering and explore design limitations.
• Develop understanding of project cycles and how new work is awarded.
