Job summary

Mott MacDonald is offering a graduate Electrical Engineer position in the Water Utility Division. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure and gain hands-on experience from feasibility to commissioning.

You will design and review electrical and ICA systems, produce drawings, and collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver sustainable solutions. A mentoring programme and Early Careers network support your professional growth.

Qualifications

• Less than 12 months’ relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Bachelor’s degree obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected to achieve one of the listed degree disciplines.
• Master’s degree may be essential for some opportunities – reflected in the application form.

Responsibilities

• Designing with purpose: Prepare and review electrical and ICA (EICA) designs for water and wastewater infrastructure, including both infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets.
• Creating technical outputs: Develop drawings and documentation such as plant general arrangements, power single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs, control system architecture, and I/O schedules.
• Collaborating across disciplines: Work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver integrated, sustainable solutions.
• Driving innovation: Use digital tools and data-driven approaches to enhance design quality and efficiency.
• Growing with support: Gain exposure to project and commercial management, supported by mentoring, training, and our Early Careers Professionals Network.
