Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Bank Receptionist cover for Millbrook and Mossley Medical Practices, via gtd healthcare. You will welcome patients, direct them to the correct clinician, and manage appointments and triage requests in a busy GP reception setting.

Experience in a GP or healthcare environment is essential; training on EMIS and Docman will be provided. Flexible shifts across two practices support staffing during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Good standard of secondary education.
• Microsoft Office experience or an IT qualification.
• Demonstrable commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and receive patients and visitors.
• Direct patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service.
• Process appointment requests, triage and telephone calls.
• Complete new patient registrations, including temporary registration.
• Handle telephone calls and take accurate messages.
• Action repeat prescription requests for collection within 48 hours.
• Provide test results to patients as advised by GP or nurse.
• Accept payments and issue receipts for private services.
• Chaperone for general examinations after training.
• Manage reception area, handle difficult behaviour and escalations.
• Deal with general enquiries and explain procedures.
• Carry out clerical work: post, email, fax, appointments, filing and scanning records.
