Job summary

Moderna in Harwell, UK, is seeking a hands-on Facilities & Engineering professional to maintain critical GMP and non-GMP manufacturing equipment in a state-of-the-art mRNA facility. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, manage contractors, and ensure compliance with cGMP documentation while advancing digital tools and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Certificate 3 in Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner) required.
• 3–5 years of experience in a regulated (cGMP) environment; sterile manufacturing desirable.
• Post-secondary degree in a science/technical field preferred.
• Familiarity with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Maintain GMP and non-GMP process equipment with scheduled maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment failures and coordinate vendors when needed.
• Support operation and maintenance of autoclaves, washers, filling lines and other systems.
• Drive preventive maintenance improvements and CAPAs with engineers.
• Lead small engineering projects and coordinate cross-system work.
• Maintain cGMP documentation and investigations.
• Coordinate contractors and ensure SWMMs and permits are in place.
• Promote safe working practices and LOTO compliance.
• Participate in on-call 24/7 support.
• Develop technical capability across the site and provide OJT.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability.
• Explore Generative AI-enabled tooling to enhance maintenance processes.
