Job summary

Inspired Thinking Group seeks a senior Financial Controller to own financial controlling for the Technology division. You will manage month-end close, balance-sheet integrity and intercompany accounting across UK and Dutch entities, reporting to the Divisional Finance Director.

You will coordinate statutory, tax and VAT work with external Dutch partners, drive close automation, and provide management commentary and KPIs to support the business plan.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) with post-qualification experience in financial control or similar role.
• Proficiency in financial systems; preference for Sage Intacct or similar platforms with close automation and controls.
• Experience in multi-entity international finance environments and intercompany accounting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong MS Excel skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close and reporting timetable for Dutch entities in Sage Intacct, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Maintain balance-sheet integrity through timely reconciliations and robust controls.
• Lead consolidation inputs and ensure group GAAP/IFRS alignment and intercompany balances.
• Oversee AP/AR with Birmingham Shared Services to ensure control over all transactions.
• Lead production of monthly and year-end results with variances, trends and forecasts.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and management commentary for board packs.
• Define KPIs and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
• Line-manage accounting teams in the Netherlands and UK, providing development and performance oversight.
• Drive adoption of new processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy, including close automation.
• Support ad-hoc tasks and reporting as required by role remit.
