Osiris Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Lead Track Design Engineer to join our track design team in the United Kingdom. The role combines technical leadership with hands‑on railway track design, construction and maintenance to ensure safety, quality and on‑time delivery.

You will oversee design from inception to completion, develop plans and budgets, coordinate with cross‑functional teams and external contractors, and mentor junior engineers toward best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience (typically minimum of 15 years) in railway track engineering, design, construction, T&C, delivery and maintenance.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex railway track projects.
• Strong knowledge of railway track standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools for track design and analysis.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Overseeing and managing all aspects of the railway track design, ensuring their successful planning, construction, inspection, T&C, completion, and delivery.
• Lead and manage railway track scope from design, construction, inception to T&C and completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Track Design Engineering, Assurance and Integration - Provide expertise in the design of railway track alignments, layouts, and components to meet safety, operational, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintenance and Inspection - Develop and implement comprehensive railway track maintenance programs, including regular inspections, maintenance schedules, and upgrades.
• Quality Assurance - Implement quality control processes to ensure that all track construction and maintenance activities adhere to established standards and regulations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices related to railway track engineering.
