Job summary

Thomson Keene is seeking a senior engineering leader to own the technical direction, engineering quality and operational resilience of a critical equities risk platform within a global financial services organisation.

You will translate strategic objectives into a clear technical roadmap, delivering high-quality solutions in a mission-critical environment with hands-on leadership, people management and platform-level accountability.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading engineering functions within financial services or similarly complex domains.
• Strong software engineering foundation with architecture and system design capabilities.
• Experience with Java or similar technologies and large-scale, distributed systems.
• Proven track record leading technology change through platform transformation or major programs.
• Experience managing and developing senior engineers and building high-performing teams.
• Deep understanding of modern software engineering practices for reliable, secure production systems.
• Comfortable taking ownership of technical risk and critical delivery decisions.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across engineering, product, business and leadership.
• Pragmatic approach balancing long-term strategy with commercial needs.

Responsibilities
