Job summary

Quilter plc in London seeks a Head of Engineering to own the engineering capability, delivering high standards across buy or built platforms. You will report to the CTDO and partner with business, product, architecture, and security stakeholders in a regulated financial environment.

You will build and lead a high-performing engineering organisation, drive modern practices (DevSecOps, CI/CD, platform engineering) and foster a culture of innovation, accountability and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large engineering organisations through growth and change.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, cloud technologies and secure software development.
• Ability to align engineering outcomes to business strategy and customer needs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned to priorities.
• Establish the engineering operating model with clear accountabilities.
• Provide technical leadership and governance to speed delivery.
• Drive AI-enabled software delivery and safe AI coding practices.
• Lead platform engineering, tooling, automation and self-service.
• Promote modular, API and event-driven architectures.
• Embed security across the software lifecycle with automated controls.
