We believe that to continue making progress, we need to work together in new ways. We need your own unique perspective as well as that of our people to make an ever greater impact on the world. This community needs people like you: dedicated, agile, and above all audacious so we can truly bring progress forward.

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for two Global Payroll Analysts to take responsibility for delivering our global payrolls, working in our Reward team and closely with our People Services team. The People Services team aims to improve the experience of our people, taking responsibility for delivering an outstanding HR service – so they, in turn, can help our customers achieve their scientific breakthroughs faster.

Working in payroll within the Reward team offers a fantastic opportunity to impact the employee experience at abcam. You will be responsible for ensuring payroll operations are delivered in line with SOX procedures. You will manage all payroll providers globally and implement effective provider management practices. Additionally, you will coach and mentor the People Services team to ensure payroll entry administration is delivered effectively by HR specialists.

This role supports abcam’s payroll operations across all locations globally, including the UK, Europe, USA, and APAC.

  1. Operate global payroll in line with SOX compliant procedures, including payroll review and approval.
  2. Provide advice and guidance regarding payroll processes to employees, leaders, and the wider HR function.
  3. Liaise with internal and external providers, acting as a key contact with payroll and reward providers and governmental authorities.
  4. Prepare payroll summary, variance, and reconciliation reports for review, approval, and sign-off.
  5. Support payroll projects within your primary areas of responsibility.
  6. Map processes, mitigate risks, and develop & maintain standard operating procedures for People Services Operations, ensuring full compliance with payroll entry and input requirements of the Payroll SOX processes.
  7. Contribute to internal and external payroll audit processes.
Qualifications

You should have a detailed understanding and working knowledge of global payroll processes, providers, and relevant legislation, with experience in both in-sourced and out-sourced solutions. Prior experience in processing US payroll, including specialized knowledge of US benefits, tax requirements, and legislation, is essential. Experience working with payroll and benefits systems and internal reporting platforms is also required.

You should have participated in your company's review and selection of payroll providers. Additionally, you should have knowledge and experience in reporting, administration, and handling complex, confidential, high-volume information, maintaining data integrity and accuracy. A strong understanding and experience with HR and payroll systems are necessary.

Additional Information

We recognize that benefits should be flexible and tailored to individual needs. Alongside competitive salaries, we offer a flexible benefits package supporting your financial, physical, and emotional wellbeing, including 18 weeks of fully paid maternity leave, 6 weeks of fully paid paternity leave, flexible working arrangements, and more. Your development is a priority, and you will grow alongside talented colleagues, often in unexpected ways.

At abcam, we foster a safe environment where you can be your authentic self. We champion and celebrate diversity and inclusion throughout your journey with us.
