Job summary

Jacobs in the UK is seeking a Director - HV Cable System Design to lead high voltage cable design across our Power & Energy portfolio, including AIS/GIS substations, HVDC interconnectors and energy storage projects.

You will develop specifications, oversee FEED and detailed design, perform technical calculations, review designs, ensure CDM compliance, and mentor engineers while coordinating with clients and suppliers in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in HV/EHV cable design across multiple project stages.
• Familiarity with National Grid and DNO standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV/EHV cable system design across projects and stages.
• Prepare specifications, review designs and perform calculations.
• Ensure CDM compliance and safe design practices.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
