Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Director - HV Cable System Design to lead high voltage cabling design across major projects in the UK. You will develop specifications, perform design reviews, and provide technical leadership for HV/EHV cable systems, including AIS/GIS substations and HVDC interfaces.

The role requires extensive cable design experience, FEED and detailed design expertise, and familiarity with National Grid/DNO standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with consultancy, contractor or utility in energy.
• Extensive experience in cable-related FEED/detailed design.
• Able to manage and lead HV/EHV cable designs at all project stages.
• Familiarity with National Grid/DNO standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications and design reviews.
• Provide technical support on HV cable system engineering and design.
• Prepare technical specs, route specs, tender specs, and progress reports.
• Ensure interface with other engineering functions and clients/subcontractors.
