Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Director - HV Cable System Design to lead HV/EHV cabling design across UK/CE projects, covering AIS/GIS substations, HVDC interconnectors, and energy storage interfaces. You will drive specifications, design reviews, and tender documentation while ensuring CDM compliance.

You will provide advanced technical support, supervise design work, and coordinate with clients, suppliers, and engineering teams. A degree in electrical power engineering and CYMCAP proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Power Engineering.
• Extensive experience in HV/EHV cable design for HVAC/HVDC projects.
• Experience with FEED/detailed design in energy sector consultancy or practice.
• Familiarity with National Grid and DNO standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications, design reviews, estimations and site support.
• Provide technical support on HV cable system engineering and design.
• Prepare technical specifications, route specs and tender docs.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and company procedures.
• Lead design reviews and verify design outputs for construction.
