Job summary

Jacobs in the United Kingdom seeks a Director for HV Cable System Design to lead high-profile HV/EHV projects across our Power & Energy portfolio. You will develop cabling specifications, perform design reviews and provide technical support to the team, coordinating with clients and suppliers to ensure compliant, safe delivery.

The role requires extensive experience in HV/EHV cable design, CDM compliance, and authorisations (CDAE/TP141).

Qualifications

Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Power Engineering.
Experience with consultancy, contractor or utility in the energy sector.
Extensive experience in a cable-related role supporting FEED/design.
Able to manage and lead HV/EHV cable designs across project stages.
Familiar with National Grid and DNO standards and processes.
Working as CDAE and TP141 authorisation.

Responsibilities

Develop HV/EHV cabling system specs and design reviews.
Provide technical support on HV cable system engineering and design.
Prepare plant and equipment specs, cable route specs, tender specs.
Ensure designs comply with CDM regulations and EH&S.
Maintain interface with clients, designers, and subcontractors.
Attend internal and external meetings; provide risk assessments and method statements.
Support FAT and factory inspections.
