Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Design Management Lead to oversee the UK and international Design Management team, driving design programmes, quality and coordination with sub-consultants.

You will mentor junior DM staff, support business planning and ensure contractual obligations are met across projects worldwide, with hybrid working arrangements and a focus on delivering high-impact infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the design process and how to plan design activities.
• Experience with project scheduling and programming.
• Experience in developing and implementing design management tools and procedures.
• Commercial awareness of projects and ability to manage budgets and change.
• Construction knowledge/experience.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel and InDesign.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Design Management team and manage day-to-day delivery.
• Support team leadership with business development and performance reviews.
• Oversight of sub-consultants, contracts, cash flows and financial reporting.
• Develop design programmes, monitor progress and manage deliverables/outputs.
• Ensure design quality, budgets and change control are adhered to.
• Provide mentoring and development for junior DM team members.
