Job summary

Caterham, Surrey based air freight operator is seeking an experienced Air Freight Operator to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will manage air import/export shipments from booking to completion, liaising with customers, airlines, and overseas agents to keep shipments moving.

Candidates should have solid air freight forwarding experience, knowledge of documentation and terminology, and the ability to handle multiple shipments with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in air freight forwarding operations.
• Knowledge of air freight processes, documentation and terminology.
• Experience handling import and/or export shipments.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and competing priorities.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Positive, proactive approach and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage air import and export shipments from booking through to completion.
• Prepare and check air freight documentation.
• Liaise with customers, airlines, overseas agents and suppliers.
• Monitor shipment progress and follow up on delays or missing information.
• Respond to customer queries and provide regular shipment updates.
• Support quotations, rate requests and booking arrangements.
• Check supplier invoices, costs and shipment charges.
• Maintain accurate job files and system records.
• Resolve operational issues and escalate where necessary.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth operation.
• Provide high level of customer service throughout shipment lifecycle.
