Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a NOC Engineer in Belfast to monitor and maintain over 14,000 servers and 250 network devices across multiple Data Centres. The role requires handling incidents, troubleshooting complex network, hardware, and OS issues, and ensuring high production uptime for customers.

The position involves a rotating 24x7 shift pattern with coverage from 06:00–19:00 GMT/BST. Applicants should have strong Linux expertise, major incident management experience, basic networking and cloud

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of Linux OS and ability to diagnose incidents on production systems.
• Major Incident Management skills including documenting actions and coordinating resolution.
• Basic understanding of core network (switching and routing) concepts and cloud computing.
• Experience with monitoring internal production systems using monitoring tooling.

Responsibilities

• Incident Management and Workload Execution.
• Coordinate with senior team members to identify broader patterns or trends.
• Assist in maintaining and improving operational standards and documentation.
• Modernization and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI).
• Use prescribed AI tooling to gain efficiencies in operational practices.
