Job summary

Amey is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Consulting Geotechnical Practice, primarily based in our International Design Hub (Birmingham), with consideration for Manchester or Cardiff. You will deliver geotechnical projects across England and Wales for clients like National Highways and Local Government.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team and develop through a knowledge-rich environment.

Qualifications

• Must be working towards Chartered/Incorporated status per a professional body.
• Developed experience and expertise within the geotechnical field, from an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent.
• Solid working knowledge of technical reporting procedures (CD 622) and design production (EC7/DMRB/MCHW).
• Take ownership for the preparation of deliverables.
• Good working knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools (Wallap, SlopeW).
• Awareness of CDM and risk assessment.
• Experience in managing and communicating hazards and risks on projects with mitigation.
• Understand interface management and align deliverables across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior/Principal Engineer; lead specific deliverables.
• Prepare designs, calculations, and documentation for scheme deliverables.
• Liaise with client and supplier reps; attend progress meetings.
• Contribute to bids and work-winning activities.
• Uphold Health and Safety practices within the team.
