Job summary

Amey is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Consulting Geotechnical Practice, ideally based in Cardiff. You will lead geotechnical projects across England and Wales, mentoring junior staff and working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality schemes.

You will bring Chartered or Incorporated status, extensive geotechnical experience, and a strong grasp of reporting standards and design codes. Amey offers a supportive environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated status as defined by professional bodies.
• Experience and expertise in geotechnical field gained in an engineer role or equivalent.
• Knowledge of technical reports procedures (CG 300, CD 622) and EC7/NWR design production.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team and deliver technically sound solutions.
• Take ownership of projects from quotation to handover.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Oversee junior staff and mentor them in tasks.
• Contribute to bids and work-winning activities.
• Drive health and safety practices within the team.
