Job summary

Amey Consulting Scotland is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our practice based in Scotland, with offices in Motherwell, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth and Aberdeen. You will contribute to ground engineering schemes across a diverse portfolio and lead deliverables with support from senior staff.

You will work towards Chartered or Incorporated status while applying National Highways standards and EC7 guidance, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-value infrastructure

Qualifications

• Developed experience and expertise within the geotechnical field, gained in an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent.
• Solid working knowledge of technical reporting procedures in line with National Highways standards (CD 622) and design production per EC7, DMRB and MCHW.
• Ownership of deliverables and active participation in site teams with a focus on health and safety.
• Experience in risk assessment, interfaces with other disciplines, and communicating hazards.

Responsibilities

• Aiding in the production of technically sound engineering solutions.
• Taking ownership and leading specific project deliverables from start to finish.
• Preparation of designs, calculations and documentation for scheme deliverables.
• Liaising with client and supplier representatives and attending progress meetings.
• Contributing to bids and supporting work-winning activities.
• Promoting health and safety practices within the team.
