Job summary
Amey is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Consulting Geotechnical Practice, ideally based in Manchester. You will lead geotechnical projects for England and Wales, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams across Amey’s ecosystem.
The role requires Chartered or Incorporated status, strong geotechnical technical expertise, and a proactive approach to health and safety.
Qualifications
- Chartered or Incorporated status by a recognized professional body.
- Experience in geotechnical field within an engineering role.
- Knowledge of CG 300 & CD 622, EC7 and NWR Standards.
- Rail earthworks asset management procedures.
- Ability to prepare and check deliverables and mentor staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small, locally based geotechnical team and deliver projects from start to finish.
- Prepare quotations and handover deliverables.
- Check designs, calculations and drawings for quality, cost and programme.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians and act as Delegated Engineer.
- Liaise with client and supplier representatives and respond to queries.
- Contribute to bids and work-winning activities.
- Promote health and safety best practices within the team.
