Job summary

WSP in Edinburgh is seeking an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects, delivering high-quality outcomes and strong client value. You will develop ground models, analyse foundations and earthworks, mentor engineers, and help shape the growth of WSP’s geotechnical business across disciplines while collaborating with teams in the UK and beyond.

Qualifications

• Substantial technical background in geotechnical engineering and ground risk.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with proposal and fee experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across geotechnical projects and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Lead ground models, assessments, and design solutions for foundations and earthworks.
• Manage programme, budget, resources, quality, and risk; liaison with clients.
• Mentor engineers and geologists; develop succession and career growth.
• Lead bids, strategic planning, and develop client relationships.
