Job summary

JD Gyms Basingstoke is looking for a General Manager to lead the club, drive operational excellence and member satisfaction. You will coach and manage a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, uphold brand standards and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all members.

You will steer membership growth, control costs, and deliver high-quality experiences while collaborating with colleagues to maximise performance and profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in leisure, fitness or hospitality.
• Proven track record in membership growth and commercial performance.
• Experience implementing health and safety policies and checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure operations run smoothly.
• Drive membership growth and achieve sales and revenue targets.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies and Brand standards.
• Deliver outstanding member service and maintain cleanliness and presentation.

You will create a positive environment for colleagues and members while driving operational excellence, membership growth and commercial success. Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will support colleague development, maintain high standards and ensure the club delivers exceptional member experiences in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. Responsibilities:• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.• To work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard. To manage the weekly banking process so that wastage and variance is minimal, maximising profit.• To ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.• Help create a positive, supportive and engaging working environment for colleagues.• To always be an ambassador of JD Gyms.
