Job summary

JD Gyms Swindon is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support daily operations and work with the General Manager to maintain high standards and deliver exceptional member experiences.

You will lead and develop a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, drive membership and commercial targets, ensure safety checks, cleanliness, and adherence to brand standards, and coach colleagues to deliver outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing colleagues in leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environments.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience driving membership growth and achieving targets.
• Experience recruiting and managing a successful team.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help maintain high operational standards, support colleague development and contribute to achieving membership and commercial objectives. Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will help create a positive environment for colleagues and members, ensuring the club delivers exceptional experiences, strong operational performance and a safe, welcoming environment for all.Responsibilities:• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial targets.• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard. To manage the weekly banking process so that wastage and variance is minimal, maximising profit.• To ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.• Help create a positive, supportive and engaging working environment for colleagues.• Represent JD Gyms values and standards in all interactions with members and colleagues.
