Job summary

JD Gyms is seeking an Assistant General Manager in Greenock to support daily operations and uphold top standards. You will work with the General Manager to coach and develop staff, drive membership and commercial targets, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for members and colleagues.

You will lead a small team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, conduct regular safety checks, and maintain cleanliness and brand standards while delivering outstanding member service.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environments.
• Committed to delivering excellent member service.
• Level 2 Gym Instructor or higher qualification.
• Experience growing memberships and managing a team.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help maintain high operational standards, support colleague development and contribute to achieving membership and commercial objectives. Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will help create a positive environment for colleagues and members, ensuring the club delivers exceptional experiences, strong operational performance and a safe, welcoming environment for all.Responsibilities:• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial targets.• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
