Job summary

JD Gyms in Milton Keynes seeks an inspiring Manager to develop standards and grow membership while leading a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants. You will drive sales, ensure safety and cleanliness, and maintain brand standards across the facility.

The role focuses on developing a high-performing team, delivering exceptional member service, and hitting monthly targets while representing the JD Gyms ethos in the local community.

Qualifications

• Must have proven management experience within a leisure-related industry.
• Passionate about customer service and inspirational leadership.
• Proven track record in driving sales and coordinating local marketing.
• Experience as General Manager or Fitness Manager is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard across the club.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety checks and report defects.
• Recruit and manage Fitness Coaches and General Assistants for daily operations.
• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and communication.
• Work toward and achieve sales and membership targets.
• Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
• Ensure the entire gym facility is clean and well maintained.
• Oversee weekly banking to minimise wastage and maximise profit.
• Maintain uniform standards across the team and facility.
• Deliver outstanding member service at all times.
• Foster a positive environment where the team enjoy coming to work.
• Act as an ambassador for JD Gyms at all times.

Role overview:

This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy and determination to drive and develop the business. We're looking for a manager with the experience of developing the standards and reputation of this new gym whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.
• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
• To work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard. To manage the weekly banking process so that wastage and variance is minimal, maximising profit.
• To ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.
• To always deliver outstanding member service.
• To help create an environment where the team enjoy themselves whilst at work.
• To always be an ambassador of JD Gyms.

Skills and Experience:

• Must have a proven and successful track record of management experience within a leisure related industry.
• Must be passionate about customer service and be an inspirational leader in the way they manage.
• Must have a proven track record in driving sales and co-ordinating local marketing activity as well as of recruiting and managing a successful team.
• Ideally will have experience as a General Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility or have substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or other similar operational function
