Job Advertisement: GCSE English Teacher (Further Education College)

Location: Greater Manchester

Hourly Rate: £30 - £38 per hour (220 - £275 per day)

Hours: 36 hours per week (Paid)

Contract: Temporary, Ongoing

Eden Brown are currently looking for an experienced and passionate GCSE English Teacher to join a leading Further Education College in Greater Manchester.

This is a full time role, 36 hours per week paid, to start in January (with a handover in December)

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging GCSE English lessons.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs and styles.
  • Support students with exam preparation and coursework.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, promoting their personal and academic growth.
Essential Criteria
  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).
  • Degree in English or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching GCSE English in a further education setting.
  • Strong understanding of the GCSE English curriculum and exam requirements.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students.

A DBS is also needed for this role.
