Job summary

South Western Railway (SWR) is looking for a Gateline Assistant to join the station team and deliver a safe, welcoming experience for customers.

You will oversee the ticket gates to ensure passengers hold valid tickets and help them navigate the station. The role requires strong communication, a proactive approach, and the ability to assist customers promptly to keep journeys on track.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or frontline roles.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse customers.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Often the first port of call for our customers, whether information or help with tickets, ensuring they have what they need to travel confidently by train.
• Ensure the safe operation of ticket gates and manage the flow of customers through the gates during busy times.
• In disruption, direct customers, keeping them safe and informed.
