Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is currently partnering with a national heating contractor operating within the local authority sector. They require a self-employed heating engineer for a long-term social housing contract.

The role focuses on Landlord Gas Safety Checks and central heating repairs, with a 5-day work week and a six-month+ contract. Rates include £300 per day, plus £30 for out-of-hours standby and call-out, paid weekly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of qualified experience as a heating engineer.
• ACS CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires) qualifications.
• Gas Safe Registration in good standing.
• Panel van (plain or sign written) for site visits.
• Clean DBS Check and driving licence with ≤6 points.
• Calibrated Flue Gas Analyser and £2m public liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Landlord Gas Safety Checks and central heating repairs.
• Work on a long-term social housing contract under a local authority.
• Coordinate appointments and complete weekly pay cycle via client system.

Contract Details

Location: GL50 to GL55

Contract: Cheltenham Borough Council

Work Type: Landlord Gas Safety Checks and Central Heating Repairs

Commitment: 5 days per week

Contract Length: 6 months+

Payment terms: Weekly one week in arrears

Rates

• £300.00 per day (all parts supplied)
• £30.00 - Out of Hours Standby
• £30.00 - Out of Hours Call Out
