Swindon Borough Council is seeking Gardener x7 to join a mobile landscaping team, under supervision of the senior grounds supervisor. The role supports transforming local landscapes across the Borough of Swindon and provides practical maintenance in public spaces.
You will operate machinery such as tractors, ride-on mowers, hedge cutters, and blowers; driving licence (manual) is required; PA1/PA6 preferred; DBS check will apply; core hours 06:00–22:00 with flexible shifts.

There is an exciting opportunity to join our revenue department working as part of a mobile landscaping team, under the guidance of both the senior grounds supervisor and grounds supervisor. As part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to make positive changes to the landscape of the Borough of Swindon that can be seen by all residents and visitors living in or visiting the Town.
The operation of mechanically powered machinery is part of this role and will include the use of Tractors, tractor/side arm, Ride on mowers, pedestrian mowers, hedge cutters, blowers etc. so a level of experience in these areas would be advantageous.
Representing the Borough daily requires employees to take a pride in their finished work. Working in the public eye, you'll need to be of a smart appearance (uniform supplied) and a polite nature.

The application of weed control products is also a part of this role and a PA1 and PA6 qualification would be preferred.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
