It's all for better public services. Better processes. And a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.

Your next role

Working within a designated patch, you'll become a trusted local face of the Council, building positive relationships with residents, understanding local issues and working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver excellent housing services.

You'll manage a varied caseload covering all aspects of tenancy management, including new tenancy visits, tenancy audits, property inspections, succession, assignment, tenancy changes and tenancy terminations. You'll work proactively to identify support needs, help resolve tenancy issues at an early stage and take appropriate tenancy enforcement action where breaches occur, including supporting legal proceedings where necessary.

You'll contribute to service improvement by maintaining accurate records, using data to inform decision making and helping shape modern, efficient housing services.

We're looking for someone who has:
  • Experience of delivering tenancy management, housing management or a similar customer-focused housing service.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise competing demands.
  • Experience of investigating tenancy issues and taking appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management and social housing practice, or the ability to develop this knowledge quickly.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

You will need to hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle and appropriate business insurance. Please confirm this in your supporting statement.

If you are also interested in the fixed term 12-month contract role, you’ll need to submit a separate application and let us know your preference of fixed term or permanent in your supporting statement.

The team operates a hybrid working model with all expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.

You will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
