Position: Fund Development and Communications Coordinator

Reports to: Fund Development and Communications Manager

Union: BCGEU

Compensation: $27.39-$29.69/hour

Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday (75 hours bi-weekly)

Status: Full time, Regular

Position’s Primary Objectives:

The Fund Development and Communications Coordinator participates in efforts to execute our fund development and communications objectives. This role works with senior leadership on strategic projects and supports the implementation of fundraising, donor engagement, and communication strategies aligned with Pacifica Housing’s mission and goals. The incumbent will work both independently and collaboratively to ensure tasks are completed timely, accurately, and with high quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fund Development and Marketing Support:
  • Assist in researching grant opportunities and drafting communications for fundraising and donor stewardship;
  • Support the implementation of a donor recognition process;
  • Identify partnership and funding opportunities;
  • Support social media advertising campaigns;
  • Assist in event planning and community engagement;
  • Provide administrative support with data collection and reporting.
  1. Communications Support:
  • Implement strategic communication plans, including internal and resident communication, advocacy, and community profile raising;
  • Develop and monitor social media content, including videos, to enhance digital presence;
  • Assist with website content creation;
  • Collaborate with departments and residents to share impact stories and reports;
  • Create internal and external communication materials such as newsletters, blog posts, presentations, and marketing materials;
  • Respond to media inquiries, prepare news releases, and handle community feedback;
  • Maintain CRM data integrity;
  • Create branded materials for social media, newsletters, signage, and events.

3. Perform related duties as required and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

Qualifications (minimum Education and Experience):

Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Education: Diploma or certification in marketing, communications, business administration, fund development, or related field.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years in an administrative role focusing on communications or fundraising;
  • Project initiation and coordination experience;
  • Digital content creation and marketing experience;
  • Experience engaging with diverse populations, including marginalized groups;
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Community engagement and event planning experience;
  • Research, writing, and reporting skills;
  • Time management and project coordination abilities;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Accountability and stakeholder management skills;
  • Proficiency with IT and social media platforms (MS Office, CRM, Adobe Suite, WordPress, etc.).

Additional Criteria:

  • Flexibility in working hours for project deadlines and events;
  • Successful clearance of a Vulnerable Sectors Criminal Record Check required.
