Job summary

Pearson is seeking a qualified Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English up to level 2, across Worthy Down and other Pearson TQ or employer sites. The role involves full-time teaching, two- or one-week blocks, plus remote 1:1/group support sessions and caseload management for apprentices.

Ideal candidates will hold a relevant teaching qualification and have experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths, with strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified Functional Skills Tutor with Maths and English up to level 2.
• Level 2 English and Maths qualification required.
• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths to level 2.
• Experience with face-to-face and remote learner support using varied delivery methods.
• Ability to adapt delivery to engage diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths and English Functional Skills to levels 1 and 2.
• Motivate learners to complete on time.
• Provide onsite and remote teaching support.
• Conduct Speaking and Listening assessments and complete paperwork.
• Create Individual Learning Plans and session records.
• Keep learner e-portfolios up to date with evidence of learning.
• Prepare and use varied teaching materials aligned to learner needs.
• Undertake course/resource development and administrative tasks.
• Provide Functional Skills data to management.
• Maintain records and follow QA and risk protocols.
• Participate in staff training and development.
