Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is seeking a WCA Assessor in the UK to conduct five daily client assessments by telephone, video, or in person. You will gather information to inform DWP benefit eligibility decisions and produce factual reports.

Full training with salary is provided, with a hybrid working pattern and Carlisle-based on-site requirements when needed. Requires an NMC registration or HCPC registration and 1+ year post‑registration experience.

Qualifications

• Proactive and keen to learn.

• Competent IT skills.

Responsibilities

What does the WCA Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) OR a HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist) with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health

No experience as a WCA Functional Assessor is needed as full training will be provided which you will be paid your full-time salary for. All we expect is that you will have 1 years post graduate experience as an RGN, RMN, RLND, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist and hold an NMC or HCPC registration.
