Job summary

Maven Consulting Group Ltd is seeking NMC/HCPC eligible professionals to join as a WCA Functional Assessor in Newtown. The role offers an excellent starting salary of £39,500 per annum, with hybrid/home working and flexible full- or part-time options (3–5 days).

You'll perform up to five client assessments daily (telephone, video or face-to-face), producing factual reports for DWP while the final decision rests with them.

Qualifications

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified professional with 1+ years post‑registration experience
• Proactive and eager to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health

Responsibilities

• Carry out up to 5 client assessments per day for WCA
• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments
• Produce a factual report to support DWP decision on eligibility
• Understand how a health condition affects work-related activity
• Gather information and deliver clear, objective reports

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?
The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day who are claiming for WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. Youll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 years or more broad post-registration experience
