Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants for full-time, long-term placements across West Sussex and Surrey. You will support classrooms, run 1:1 and small-group interventions, and help create a positive learning environment.

Ideal candidates have experience in schools or related settings, strong communication in English and Maths, and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply). Roles offer weekdays, with steady weekly pay and ongoing placements.

Qualifications

• Full Monday to Friday availability during standard school hours.
• Experience supporting children or young people in schools, nurseries, sports coaching, care or youth work.
• Patient, proactive and resilient approach to pupil support.
• Strong communication skills and confident foundational English and Maths.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Right to work in the UK with reliable transport links across West Sussex and Surrey.

Responsibilities

• Work full-time hours Mon-Fri (8:30–3:30) alongside class teachers to maintain daily routines.
• Lead small group interventions in core literacy, phonics, and numeracy.
• Provide dedicated 1:1 learning support for pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, or speech/language delays).
• Help create an inclusive, safe learning environment throughout the school day.
• Support classroom preparation, learning displays, and break-time monitoring.
