Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in DE55, supporting a mainstream class and delivering targeted academic and pastoral care to pupils with autism, ADHD, SLCN, SEMH and MLD.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, adapt learning materials, assist intervention sessions, track progress, contribute to SEN meetings and EHCP reviews, and collaborate with the SENCO and external specialists.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary pupils, ideally with SEN (ASC, ADHD, SLCN)
• Level2/3 TA qualification or equivalent
• Strong communication, empathy, patience, and adaptability
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare

Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant Start: ASAP Location: DE55 Contract: Term‑time only (39 weeks) - Monday to Friday, approx. 8:30-15:30 Salary: Competitive daily/annual rate from £95 -£ 115 via PAYE

About the Role

We're seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school ASAP based in DE55. You'll support a mainstream Primary class, delivering targeted academic and pastoral care. Your focus will include one-to-one and small-group work with pupils with special educational needs-particularly those with autism, ADHD, speech/language difficulties, SEMH, and MLD.Collaborating closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals (e.g. speech and language therapists), you'll help adapt learning materials, support intervention sessions, and play an active part in tracking progress and contributing to SEN meetings and EHCP reviews.

Essential:
