Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer (Central) to join a dynamic team and help prevent fraud at the frontline within Jobcentre and Service Centre sites.

The role involves interviewing claimants on site, collaborating with colleagues, delivering customer education on responsibilities, and maintaining accurate management information. Occasional travel between sites may be required, and hybrid/home working is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Jobcentre and Service Centre colleagues conducting initial evidence interviews and verification activities within those teams on site.
• Conduct robust interviews where there is suspicion about the validity of documents for verification of identification, housing costs, and child-related elements of Universal Credit.
• Participate in review meetings with customers and the Enhanced Review Team (ERT) when evidence is brought to a Jobcentre.
• Provide regular feedback at office meetings on fraud trends, patterns, and detection methods; feed information to risk and intelligence teams within DWP.
• Lead customer education sessions with Jobcentre colleagues to clarify customer responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.
• Collate and maintain accurate Management Information (MI) as directed by analysts and performance teams.
• Frequent travel between sites may be required depending on business needs.
