Job summary

The Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer to join a new team across Jobcentre and Service Centres in Leiston. The role focuses on preventing fraud at the frontline, strengthening verification processes and educating claimants about their responsibilities.

The VAO will interview claimants face-to-face at Jobcentre sites, work with colleagues, and provide feedback on fraud trends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and follow-up interviews to verify documents for identification, housing costs, and other universal credit elements.
• Collaborate with Jobcentre and Service Centre colleagues to integrate verification activities within teams.
• Provide regular feedback on fraud trends at office meetings and feed information into risk and intelligence units.
